Impossible de charger la disponibilité du service de retrait
A beautiful late Victorian sterling silver sovereign holder dating to 1896, hallmarked at the Chester Assay Office and presented in remarkably bright, well-preserved condition.
Originally designed to carry gold sovereign coins securely in a waistcoat pocket, this elegant antique accessory features a richly engraved exterior with flowing foliate decoration surrounding a smooth polished cartouche. The plain central panel provides an ideal area for personal engraving, making this a wonderful collector's piece or a unique gift.
The holder opens smoothly to reveal its original sprung coin-retaining mechanism, engineered to securely grip a sovereign while allowing easy access when required. The interior remains clean and bright, while the hinged cover closes firmly with a satisfying fit.
The detailed hand-engraved decoration reflects the craftsmanship of the Victorian period, with attractive floral and scroll motifs covering the body. A suspension ring at the top allowed the sovereign holder to be attached to a watch chain, fob chain or gentleman's pocket watch ensemble.
With its original hallmarks, excellent condition and practical functionality, this is an increasingly desirable example of Victorian silverware and an appealing addition to any collection of antique silver, numismatic accessories or gentleman's pocket watch memorabilia.
