Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful answers to frequently asked questions about ashes and memorial jewellery. Also visit our Memorial Jewellery Glossary for a handy reference guide to terminology used for memorial jewellery.
How much ash do I need to bring
We use only a very small amount of cremation ash in jewellery. Clients are welcome to bring ashes for us to take a small quantity for use in the item.
Do you send the ash away?
No. All ash remains in our care. We mix the ash with resin and add it to jewellery in our Ryde showroom workshop ensuring that no ash is sent away for jewellery to be made.
Can I mix two sets of ashes?
Yes. We can mix ashes from two or more sources, or we can suggest designs creatd to hold more than one section of ashes.
Where can I see all of the designs?
View examples of ashes jewellery in our showroom or visit the See You Jewelry website for the full collection.
How do I pick colours?
We have colour examples in our showroom, or we can send a chart of colours and if needed we can usually email examples of jewellery created in specific colours.
How long does it take?
Every item of memorial jewellery differs. Depending on your choice of precious metal and level of customisation, your finished design could take between 2 to 5 weeks as a guide.
How do I choose the colour?
As part of our service, we advise on colours suitable for the ash being used for jewellery. We also have a demonstration swatch of colours to show the end results of your piece.
Do I need to make an appointment?
It is advisable to make an appointment wherever possible. Please advise us of any designs you are considering. It is not necessary to book an appointment to view examples available to view in our showroom.
Can you store ashes?
Once completed, we can hand back the small quantity of ashes or we can hold and catalogue the sample. Some clients like us to do this in the event a ring needs replacing or a family member wishes to place an order for jewellery with the same ashes.
