Bringing Your Own Diamond (or Gemstone) to a Jeweller

Every day, visitors ( to our showroom and website) enquire about adding their own diamonds or gemstones to jewellery commissions.

Can you bring your own diamond or gemstone?

Yes you can. It's that simple. As part of our work, we create jewellery with existing diamonds and gemstones. But, most of our commissions involve the complete design, with a diamond or gem sourced as part of the work.

Many of our clients bring in their own gemstone to be set into jewellery designs.

How to re-use your existing diamond or gemstone?

Working with CAD design enables us to adapt any jewellery design to any diamond or gemstone. Furthermore, we consider the hardness and durability of the gemstone. For example, Tanzanites often suit necklaces and earrings rather than engagement rings.

How to send us a diamond or gemstone from the UK or overseas.

Don't worry if you can't visit our showroom on the Isle of Wight. Many of our clients post their diamonds or gemstones from the UK mainland or from all across the World.

As part of our service, we often cover items sent to our showroom for a small additional charge. As such, we add items to our insurance policy for peace of mind. We provide full instructions and guidance on this at the time.

If your existing gemstones and diamonds feature in existing jewellery designs, we provide any unsetting work. As part of our service, we unset stones, check on dimensions and add them to new items of jewellery.

Additional options for using your own gemstones.

Our services for existing stones include the following options.

Supply of a standard finished ring mount, perfect for trade clients.

Unsetting existing gemstones.

Insuring stones in transit to our showroom.

Setting and finishing gems into standard or bespoke designs.

Optional written insurance valuations on completion of a commission.
