One of our most recent bespoke ring commissions exceeded all expectations. We created the ring for Nathaniel, a US client living in South Carolina.
One of the wonderful aspects of bespoke jewellery design comes from the ability to create any conceivable ring design. For this particular ring commission, we brought together a variety of diamond types.
Firstly, at the heart of the ring, we sourced an ethical Canadamark marquise-cut diamond, mined from Canada's frozen lakes and tracked through the Canadamark system. As a result, the diamond comes with the assurance of 100% ethical standards going far beyond conflict-free.
In addition, the ring featured incredible sage-green marquise-cut diamonds on either side, with graduated sizes of round diamonds.
The Proposal
For the proposal, Nathaniel chose a beautiful location within the marshes of South Carolina—in the heart of nature, reflected by the green marquise-cut diamonds set into Emma's ring.
The proposal was captured beautifully by Nathaniel's photographer, Everlasting Exposures and we were given permission to share their amazing moment a few photographs of the finished ring.
Ethical Diamond Beauty
As part of his ring commission, Nathaniel insisted on ethical diamonds. For the centre of the ring, we sourced an incredible 1.20 carat Marquise-cut diamond with complete traceability back to the Diavik mine in Canada's Northwest Territories. Cut from over 6 carats of rough diamond, the stone provided an incredible centrepiece for the ring design. In addition, we set beautiful sage-green Marquise-cut diamonds, ethically lab-grown, handcrafted in 18ct Yellow Gold.
The Bespoke Ring Design Process
As part of our bespoke ring design service, we begin by talking to new clients to understand any ideas they have for their ring. Some take inspiration from existing ring styles, combining elements. For Nathaniel's ring, we provided CAD designs to give an idea of the final ring. However, the final ring designs surpass most expectations when clients see the finished ring for the first time.
In addition to the design and creation of the ring, our small and helpful team (Drina, Mark and Debbie) take care of logistics. For overseas clients like Nathaniel, we include any tax and duties, and take care of shipping. This final step often involves additional information required by customs to clear the parcel when it arrives in the country.
